Dear D127 Parents and Community Members,
Oh what a difference a week makes!
We are delighted to share that all is well here in D127 as we welcome the class of 2019 today for Freshmen Orientation at both Grayslake North and Grayslake Central High Schools. One week ago today we were all working together on clean-up and repair efforts after an EF-1 tornado whirled through our community. Thank you to our entire school community for doing whatever it takes to make sure our doors would be open to welcome our students today.
We extend deepest appreciation to our colleagues at the Grayslake Fire Protection District for their quick response and hard work, and to Com Ed for getting us and our community back up and running in no time. Special thanks to Mr. Ron Kay, D127’s Director of Buildings and Grounds, for being here round the clock to make sure we were able to serve our students, our staff members, and our school community during the clean-up and repair process.
The warmth and support demonstrated by our entire community in the midst of a very tough week is what makes our school community such an amazing place—and we are grateful.
Here’s to the beginning of another wonderful school year together!
