Social Studies students at both GCHS and GNHS are excited to announce their participation in the Chicago Metro History Fair. The cornerstone of the Chicago Metro History Fair is a competition where students enter a unique historical exhibit detailing a topic related to Chicago’s history. This year’s theme is “Turning Points in History: People, Ideas and Events.” Students from Chicago and suburban Cook, Lake, Kane, and DuPage counties participate in the competition.
Students at both schools have been working extensively on compiling primary and secondary sources, writing research papers and now creating and presenting a culminating exhibit related to their work. GCHS and GNHS will be showcasing these exhibits in a school history fair on Tuesday, February 12th-Thursday, February 14th. The highest scoring exhibits will then advance to the Suburban High School Regional level of the Chicago Metro History Fair on Saturday, March 2nd at Niles North High School, with potential to advance to the State and even National levels.
