1:1 Chromebook Program for Fall 2016

1:1 Chromebook Program for Fall 2016

We are pleased to announce that the Grayslake Community High School District 127 Board of Education approved a 1:1 Chromebook Program for all freshman and sophomore students beginning in the fall of 2016.  Integration of the Chromebooks into every classroom offers exciting opportunities for students and teachers in teaching and learning, student engagement, innovative assignments, and assessments. The district has spent the last several years piloting 1:1 learning in several different classrooms throughout the district and we have found that students are more engaged with their learning, have been offered new opportunities for learning and collaborating, and have overall experienced higher levels of success in school when participating in a 1:1 learning environment. It is essential that our students have the access they need to resources and the tools that they need to create, problem solve and learn in today’s world.

Please more information in the 1:1 Parent Handbook found on the Technology Resources site.

Starting this week District 127 students will be able to use text messaging to reach out for help for themselves or friends at any time of day or night. Text-a-Tip allows teens to find anonymous, immediate help if they are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse, depression, difficult family situations, bullying, or any of the many challenges they face today.
