The word of the week is Emulate.  The definition of Emulate is imitate; showing effort or desire to equal or excel others.  A synonym of Emulate is follow; copy.

Today in the College Career Center: Eastern Michigan at 10:15, University of Northern Iowa at 11:10 and University of Illinois at Chicago at 1:55.

Spanish club has been cancelled for today and rescheduled to next Monday at 2:50.  See Sra Dodge with any questions!

FBLA will be selling donuts Thursday and Friday this week.  Bring your dollars.

Art Club will meet after school on Tuesday.

Choir students – meet in the Choir Room today 5th period for lunch.  We will leave at 11:40 a.m. for the buses.  We will return by 2:15 p.m.

Congratulations to the Marching Rams for their 3rd place finish in Class AAA at the Sandwich Marching Band Festival this weekend.

All boys interested in trying out for basketball should attend a pre-tryout meeting in the arena on Monday 10/23 @ 7:10 AM…please see Coach Kougias if you cannot attend.

Do you want to be involved at GCHS? Do you love to dance and perform? Then join the 2017-2018 GCHS Competitive Dance Team! We perform at all home basketball games and compete all over the state. Tryout Clinics are Monday, October 23 from 3-5 PM and Tryouts are Tuesday, October 24 at 3 PM in the dance room. See Coach Kanya or Coach Bevente with any questions.

FBLA is packing care packages for the Marines.  Please help us by contributing chapstick, handwarmers, cough drops, instant coffee and hot chocolate, and individual drop in drink mixes.  There are drop off boxes by security, LRC and outside of 1570.  Due date is Oct. 20th.

GCHS Key Club will be holding its annual Trick or Treat for UNICEF fundraiser from today through Halloween in all first hour classes. The first hour class that raises the most money will win Dunkin Donuts, courtesy of Key Club! Orange donation boxes have been placed in all department offices, so if your first hour class does not have one, teachers can take them from there and place them in your room.

Ladies it's that time of year to get the ball rolling and come on out for the girls bowling team. We will have an information meeting on Thursday Oct. 19th at 7:05am and 2:50pm in room 2020.  You only need to attend one of the meetings.  If you have any questions see Mr. Blasevich in the Life Fitness Office room 1100.

Attention SAGE Club members – the next meeting will take place today at 2:50 p.m. in Room 2425 to discuss our field trip at Grayslake North.

Winter Sports are about to start.  Athletes need to make sure they have current physicals on file IN THE ATHLETIC OFFICE and have registered for their sport on 8 to 18.  Athletes will not be allowed to participate until registration process is complete.  See Mrs. Karolczak in Athletic Office with any questions.

Congratulations to Michael Sisk and Tyler Hanson for qualifying for the Boys Golf State Championship this past weekend.  They both battled the elements, and a tough course.  Michael Sisk ended up in 12th place individually for the best finish ever in the history of Grayslake Golf.
