Student Teaching and Observing

Request to Student Teach

Prospective candidates for all future student teaching positions must submit a letter of request from their university, a transcript and a personal data sheet or resume to Grayslake Community High School District 127. The application and supporting documentation should be emailed, faxed or mailed to:

Procedures for Placement

Each applicant’s qualifications and requirements are examined. Student teachers and interns are placed according to the number of cooperating teachers available in requested content areas. Placements are limited.

After a placement is made, a confirmation letter will be sent to the university that includes the cooperating teacher and Department Chair contact information for the student.

Request to Observe

To begin the observation process in our district, you must complete the Grayslake Grayslake District 127 Application Form and email it nesterl@d127.org. We handle observation requests on a first-come, first-served basis. Once we receive your request, we will look for a teacher that matches your needs. If one is available, we will provide you with the name of the teacher and their contact information so you can directly arrange mutually convenient hours with the teacher.

From the Blog

Starting this week District 127 students will be able to use text messaging to reach out for help for themselves or friends at any time of day or night. Text-a-Tip allows teens to find anonymous, immediate help if they are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse, depression, difficult family situations, bullying, or any of the many challenges they face today.
