Summer Reading

Grayslake North English 2016

Many English classes at North have summer reading responsibilities, and those links are below. Because we want to foster an interest in reading that goes beyond that which is assigned to read, we have included a gathering of book titles as a Recommended Reads list. The English teachers here at North hope that everyone finds something interesting to read this this summer.

“We read to know we are not alone.”  C.S. Lewis

We, the teachers of Grayslake North High School’s English Department, challenge our students to grow as skilled communicators, critical readers, and increasingly independent learners.  Equally important is our commitment to fostering students’ confidence, integrity, and responsibility, encouraging them to use their voices to participate meaningfully in the world.
