Please see below for a message from PSP about a school-wide project to thank our veterans for their service. Let me know if you have questions or concerns!
We, the students from Public Service Practicum, are hoping to honor our courageous veterans on Veterans Day. However, we don't plan on doing so with the usual thank you cards with actual signatures. We are going high-tech (sort of) and asking you to have your students film 90 second videos known as Flipgrids (similar to that of Snapchat videos) thanking veterans either as a class or individually. These videos can be in any form depending on how you or the students wish to handle it - students can do them individually or in groups, or you could record your whole class at one time. Participants can just talk to the camera, or they could record an inspiring image (like a flag or a thank-you sign), or they could hold a sign while being recorded. Whatever they want to do is fine - they just have to be thanking our veterans. We will then send out the link to the completed videos to local veterans' organizations, so that they may receive more personal gratitude for their service in the armed forces.
To participate, go to (or send your students to) https://flipgrid.com/gnhsthanksveterans (if this URL doesn't work, go to www.flipgrid.com and enter the code "gnhsthanksveterans"). Check out the video I posted for ideas for what you can do with this and to get a sense of what this looks like. We'd like to have all the videos done by Monday 11/12.
