2017-2018 District Goals
 

 


Goal 1: Promote Student Growth and Achievement

  • Continue to explore and implement content delivery methodologies, real-world experiences, and learning that ignites student curiosity and passion.  (Blended, experiential learning and real world learning partnerships.)
  • Increase the use of technology for the following: to gather, evaluate, and/or use  information for learning;  to conduct research and/or create original works for learning; to communicate and/or work collaboratively for learning
  • Increase the number of graduates earning the Cum Laude recognition
  • Increase students meeting or exceeding benchmarks on the SAT Suite of Assessment
  • Leverage PowerSchool and archived data to communicate user friendly results to all stakeholders to improve student performance

Goal 2: Support Student Social and Emotional Well Being

  • Increase the capacity of classroom teachers to address the needs of a diverse student body
  • Implement revisions to  RAMP (Rams Advisory & Mentoring Program) and Freshman Transition to support the adjustment to high school
  • Provide structured exploration opportunities during the school day around health and wellness (Wellness Days)
  • Create expanded Student Leadership opportunities

Goal 3: Support Professional Learning

  • Develop Department Chair and teacher capacity in building curriculum maps to review and refine course essential skills and content, enduring understandings and scope and sequence
  • Increase the capacity of classroom teachers to address the needs of a diverse student body
  • Increase the capacity of staff to facilitate the use of technology for the following: to gather, evaluate, and/or use  information for learning;  to conduct research and/or create original works for learning; to communicate and/or work collaboratively for learning
  • District 127 staff will maintain a presence in the larger professional development community to gain and share best practices
  • Foster collaboration between teachers to support risk taking and the sharing of best practice strategies
  • Engage staff in the building of Career Pathway guides for students and parents
  • Expand training of all administrators in observation and coaching of teachers with a focus on student engagement

Goal 4: Provide Financial Oversight/Facilities Review

  • Maintain a balanced budget
  • Maintain Board established fund balance ratios
  • Annually review space needs based on enrollment and programs


Goal 5: Increase Parent and Community Involvement

  • Revamp Parent University in response to parent feedback to increase participation
  • Increase attendance at extracurricular events (including Write Night and Muse) 
  • Provide additional Public Service and community outreach opportunities 
  • Increase attendance at Hispanic Family nights (Conexiones)

Goal 6: Increase communication and collaboration among personnel in all departments, schools, and levels of leadership across the District

  • Flatten leadership structure by developing administrative council
  • Utilize current technology tools to make information available to all admin members
  • Explore additional technology strategies to improve communication
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders in the event of an emergency
  • Align Superintendent, Principal, district, and building goals to ensure consistency of focus
  • Gather information from all D127 staff to improve communication and access to administrators
