The D127 Prevention and Wellness program educates and empowers students to make healthy decisions that will contribute to individual student success and a healthy school community. The program aims to promote a variety of health and wellness initiatives through comprehensive, equitable, holistic, and research-based programming to accomplish the following goals:
- Improve help-seeking behaviors
- Provide access to accurate health and wellness information and resources
- Increase student leadership and peer education opportunities
- Engage diverse school and community stakeholders in collaborative efforts to promote health and wellness initiatives
- Advocate for a school environment that supports healthy behaviors and reduces harmful behaviors
- Coordinate with all staff and students on Social Emotional Learning initiatives
- Foster positive school climate and connectedness
- Support health and wellness with staff, families, and local partnerships throughout the school community
