We have two important announcements regarding your planning for the 2021-2022 school year. First, the 2021-2022 Curriculum Guide, which lists all available classes and other important information is now available. The link to this guide is also posted on the district and building websites. Please take some time to peruse the information housed on the site. Your high school will soon communicate with you about this year’s course selection process, which will occur by grade over the next couple of months. If you have questions about a specific class, please contact the department chair. If you have questions about the course selection process, please contact your guidance counselor.
In addition, we are excited to announce that the Board of Education has approved a new permanent bell schedule to go into effect in the 2021-2022 school year. The Bell schedule can be reviewed here: 2021-2022 A/B Bell Schedule. This schedule features a later 8:15 AM start for both campuses, a 90-minute block format that actually provides more opportunities for students to take classes of their choosing, and built-in time to meet with faculty and staff, collaborate with peers, study, and attend informational meetings without having to miss lunch or class to do so. We are very excited about the academic opportunities this schedule will bring our students while providing a schedule that supports their social-emotional well-being. Much more information about this new schedule will be shared with students in the coming months and as they begin picking classes for next year.
All the best,
Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation.
