What is the district doing to clean and sanitize buildings, buses, etc.?

Cleaning and disinfecting are part of a broad approach to preventing infectious diseases in schools. Our maintenance staff are systematically cleaning every room and every area in both of our buildings. 

How long will school be closed?

At this time, students and all but essential staff will be out of school until at least April 14.

  • The district will utilize emergency days the week of 3/16 through 3/20
  • Spring Break is from 3/23 through 3/27
  • Students will work outside the school building on eLearning lessons the week of 3/30 through 4/3, and from 4/6 to 4/9. 

Students and staff are scheduled to return 4/14, but we will re-evaluate based on guidance from the Governor's Office and the Illinois Department of Public Health. 

What factors will be used to reopen?

We are currently observing the Governor's Stay at Home and school closure order. We will continue to follow instructions from the Governor's office, the State Board of Education, and the Health Department and Centers for Disease Control. 

Is the district prepared for long-term closure?

Yes. We are prepared for closure through 4/14/2020 ,and will be re-evaluating our procedures and timelines accordingly.
