The Opportunity: The District 127 Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education, following the resignation of Mr. Andrew Carlin, effective Friday, January 23, 2026. The selected individual will serve until the consolidated election in April 2027.
Who We Are Looking For: In alignment with our Portrait of a Learner, we are seeking a collaborative and principled leader who brings a spirit of continuous growth and service to the role. Ideal candidates will be:

An effective Board member represents the interests of the entire District 127 community, students, families, staff, and taxpayers, rather than any single constituency.

Eligibility Requirements – Please review the legal requirements for Board of Education members outlined in the packet before applying.
Deadline: Completed applications and a current resume or personal statement must be received by Friday, February 13, 2026, before 4:00 pm.
Submission: Please submit materials via email to Jenny Utinans, Board Recording Secretary, at jutinans@d127.org, or deliver a hard copy to the District Office (400 N. Lake Street, Grayslake, IL).
Selection Timeline: The Board will review all applications and contact selected candidates. Candidates will be contacted to schedule interviews. Please know interviews will be conducted in the evenings within the boundaries of District 127. A new Board Member must be seated by March 16, 2026.
Time Commitment: A Board member is required to attend two meetings a month, along with other various commitments as decided by the Board of Education. Board Schedule for the 2025-2026 School Year
