The GNHS Choir program is comprised of three curricular choir classes, one extra-curricular jazz choir, and one student led a cappella choir. All choirs perform in multiple concerts each year.

It is the goal of the choral program to train well-rounded musicians through the creation of collaborative performances, showcasing quality technique through a diverse repertoire.

Concert Choir:

Concert Choir is an introductory curricular choir open to all students grade 9-12. This non-auditioned performance ensemble is primarily focused on basic singing technique in a low-risk and fun atmosphere. The concert choir performs in fall, winter, and spring concerts each year.

Honors Treble Choir:

The Honors Treble Choir is an advanced curricular choir open to students by audition. The treble choir specializes in Soprano/Alto voicings and performs in the D127 Honors Music Festival, along with the semester concerts. Students in the honors choirs focus on advanced vocal technique through the performance of more complex and difficult repertoire.

Honors Mixed Choir:

The Honors Mixed Choir is an advanced curricular choir open to students by audition. The mixed choir specializes in SATB voicings and performs in the D127 Honors Music Festival, along with the semester concerts. Students in the honors choirs focus on advanced vocal technique through the performance of more complex and difficult repertoire.

Jazz Choir:

Jazz Choir is an extra-curricular choir open to all students grade 9-12. Although participation in a curricular ensemble is highly encouraged, it is not required. The jazz choir sings in two jazz concerts as well as multiple school events throughout the year. Students learn genre-specific vocal technique and basic scatting through the performance of swing, Latin, and other related styles.
