Grayslake North High School Hosts The Big Game vs. Round Lake High School

Grayslake, Illinois. March 1, 2024 – Grayslake North High School District 127 is proud to host our annual Special Olympics basketball game at Grayslake North High School against Northern Lake County Conference team Round Lake High School. The athletes will be competing in front of the North student body at 9:30am on March 1, 2024.

 The teams this year consist of special education students grades 9-12 from Grayslake North and Round Lake. It is difficult to describe the impact this unique game has on those participating, as well as those in the stands.

               “The Big Game is an amazing experience not only for our athletes but for the community as whole. It brings everyone together and creates an inclusive community that celebrates and promotes inclusion, kindness, and acceptance. The Big Game allows athletes to enjoy a fun game of basketball with their friends and to highlight our amazing athletes and all the hard work they have put in to improve their game.” - Jenny Sparks & Yolanda Vazquez, GNHS Special Olympics Coaches

The Big Game is one of the most memorable days of the entire school year! This is a day dedicated to celebrating differences and spreading kindness and inclusion. To demonstrate the powerful impact of this game, we invite you to be a part of this amazing event.
